This necklace has many genuine African elements: traditional sandcast recycled glass beads (from Ghana), handmade clay beads (from Morocco), hand painted tiger stripes glass focal, a pair of vintage handmade metal connectors made by the Kuchi tribe in Afganistan (about 30-40 years old) and a pair of the most exquisite detailed metal beads with enamel from the Berber tribes in Morocco. I complimented the theme with textiles: faux fur, burgundy recycled silk ribbon, printed leopard leather and blue silk fibers around the image. There are multiple dangles of silver colour feathers, a silver coloured face mask. Under the photo I used a square batik bone component, a tiger eye gemstone bead and an oblong coconut shell component. I also brought contemporary element in the design with the use of grey rhinesone chain around the focal. The necklace is backed with shiny cracked bronze metallic leather.

This one is sure to be a talking point! Although a little heavy, it has many original elements of the tribal theme, certainly carrying some authentic local energy from their crafting process.

Care & Maintenance

Do not let perfume or cosmetics come in direct contact with the beads and components. While I choose my material carefully and I try to provide the best quality, if not properly taken care of, all beads will change or lose colour or shine in time if exposed to chemicals.

Handle the fragile components with care especially the clasp area. Be gentle! Because I use lots of fragile components made of clay or porcelain, I advise to keep the jewellery in their own boxes out of harm's way. I do consider repairs, but subject to certain conditions.
