This classic statement necklace is made around a vintage porcelain cameo with an image of Raphael’s painting “Lady with an Unicorn”. It is believed that she was Giulia Farnese, the mistress of pope Rodrigo de Borgia.
The rich colours include deep burgundy, bronze and aqua. I used a gorgeous mookaite jasper stone, many genuine garnet chips, silk ribbon recycled from sari industry in India, lots of antique bronze metallic accents, sequins and a rich burgundy colour embossed suede leather. It all ends with a verdigris dangle and a Swarovski burgundy cross as a reference to the story of the original painting.
The pendant measures 6 1/2″ (165mm) (including the drop) and a maximum 3 1/2″ (90mm) in width. The collar is adjustable. It weighs 83g.
